O2 London Sept 8th 2011

Dear All
I'm sure this will be met with some sort of complaint but I feel strongly that I should pass comment on the concert I attended on the above date. Normally, I wouldn't be attending a Dolly Parton concert but went with my best friend as she had tickets for her birthday. I was expecting an extravaganza, showbiz show. But sadly this was not the case. My friends husband spent over £100 per ticket. The 02 arena was almost full. I suspect most people paid via credit card thus getting themselves into further debt. I thought Ms Parton was a very sweet and talented musician but her show left a lot to be desired. There wasn't much singing and far too much talking. There wasn't any particular stage show apart from Ms Parton playing an array of instruments. To talk about her childhood poverty and to how rich she is now in my opinion was extremely distasteful particularly as London was very post riotting and remains in a deep recession. As a PR/Management company there needs to be some serious tweaking around Ms Partons so called show. The tickets were way overpriced for a performer who frankly, couldn't perform for value for money and in my opinion was unprofessional. Given Ms Partons nature and the impression she gives of herself I'm sure she would like to at least think about changing her approach to her performance.

I wish her all the luck and would hope that her ego (far more inflated than her chest) can be tamed somewhat and that her clear and obvious talent, is put out there more to appeal to her most ardent fans and audience who come out for an evening of showmanship, not a chat.

With kind regards
Tracey Newman
Please now remove me from this website. I couldn't find anywhere else to complain to. Thank you.

WELL I DONT KNOW WHAT "YOU"

WELL I DONT KNOW WHAT "YOU" WERE EXPECTING? DOLLY PREFORMED FOR ALMOST 3 HOURS, SANG LIKE 28 SONGS OR SO, FOR 2 SELL OUT SHOWS AT THE O2, MANY MANY THOUSANDS ENJOYED BOTH SHOWS, AS THEY DID AT ALL THE GIGS ON THIS TOUR, AND THE LAST UK TOUR IN 2008, AND U DID NOT EVEN BUY A TICKET, YOUR FRIEND SHOULD HAVE GIVEN THE TICKET TO SOMEONE WHO WOULD HAVE APPRECIATED IT,

I was at this show and I

I was at this show and I don't know what you're talking about. Dolly was great as usual and I have no complaints about the show, she even danced which was a great treat!
There was a lot of singing, and yes, a lot of talking too, which is to put the songs in context and also to make a connection with the audience. Otherwise going to a concert wouldn't be different than listening to a cd now would it?
The rags to riches story that she always tell is not to rub it in the faces of her audience that she's rich, but rather to show that she has been able to live the American dream and that she is very thankful for it - the whole reason she told these stories were so she could end the story by thanking the fans which she did several times throughout the show.
I disagree that the tickets were overpriced, actually none of the tickets were more than 100 pounds, I think the most expensive one was 75 pounds - at face value. If you buy your ticket from other places than the official dealers you can expect to pay more and that is a choice you make as a consumer and that has nothing to do with Dolly.

First of all I was not aware

First of all I was not aware of any tickets that cost Over £100 With booking fees it only just made £85 and £10 of that was the fee from the arena . Secondly Post London rioting is absolutely screw all to do with Dolly. I can only be grateful she still came here after the disgusting sights of British behaviour that were flashed all over the world looking more like we were in the middle of the blitz than a civilised society Thirdly dolly's ego is very small so maybe she should go get a chest reduction. I was fortunate enough to meet dolly this time with other people from her Imagination Library and was quite frankly horrified at the way people make demands on her and behave in her presence. I didn't pay for my tickets on credit card and would not make judgements on other peoples financial situation nor care. I had an absolute blast at both concerts Dolly sang Danced talked travelled half way across the world spent hours driving up and down the M1 on a bus and getting a bit Ill into the process but she completed the tour ( many would have cancelled) and she did it all gracefully. I am THANKFUL after Post riotous britain that Dolly came and did give most of us a better day !!!! I am also thankful that an American lady cares enough to try to make a difference to the future of this country by bringing her reading programme here that will be at some personal cost to herself but then again maybe she has put it on her CREDIT CARD!!!! This was Dollys best ever concert so I just guess she really does not know the game at all and she should hire your P/R management company Remind us what it is called again...........NEGATIVITY

how rude can you get. People

how rude can you get. People go to a concert of dolly's to here her songs , new and old , and ....believe it or not to here her talk. she is an amazing women with hundreds of wonderful stories to tell. YES , she maybe a performer but she is not a performing pupet to jump through hoops and god knows what the heck you were expecting her to do, AND NO , she didnt waste her money on pointless crap and over the top pyrotechnics. Couse believe it or not your ment to be seeing dolly parton sing, and the fact she played her instruments and told wonderful stories was a great added bonus !!!!. And i will tell you she is NOT ...I REPEAT NOT a bloody circus act. You should of been privileged to have seen such a wonderful good hearted , well loved women ...a country legend , doing what she loves and keeping it real !!!! Keep up the fantastic work dolly , we know you dont have to but you do couse you love it and i am truly and utterly greatful for your honest hard work .xxx

Wow Tracey I have to say

Wow Tracey I have to say you're ungrateful. Here I am sitting in South Africa wishing and would do anything I could to go see Dolly live and you get a ticket free.... AND YOU COMPLAIN!!! REALLY?? I think your friend should have taken me with, I believe I would have enjoyed it. Don't you know what honor it was for you to go see DOLLY PARTON??? How can you put a price on something so special?? Maybe you should stop looking at what was wrong and start looking at what you found nice or good about the show.... I guess you're just one of those "cup half full" people!

You know, Tracey, I don´t

You know, Tracey, I don´t know what you were expecting but I have to disagree too. Dolly is a great singer, songwriter and entertainer. She is very warm and kind hearted. This time I too finally had the chance to see her closer up and even meet her. She is real and true. She works hard. She loves what she is doing and she appreciates her fans out there. I am so happy she is who she is! :)
