A DAY DEFINED

Happy mothers day is what we all say
Those are only three words is there a better way
So I thuoght about Happy and for whom it"s intended for
Just look at any child it's their mother they adore
The love she has to give her body changing says it all
As she carries for nine months a new life she has never saw
The pain of her delivery there's not much to compare
A mothers love is so powerful there isn't anything she won't bare
You could'nt put a number on all her daily deeds
Cause children are demanding what a task to fill their needs
Well here's to my mom who knows her that I love
She always gave her best and filled me with God's love
From life we receive pain and love can hurt for sure
If it concerns any of her children it's much more that a mother endures
Now I am a father and a son stiil to my mom
And I saw her go through pain of which she seemed so strong
I can only imagine of how she hurt inside
As she watched the one she called mom take her last breath and subside
We are all born to die we know it right from the start
But a mothers love when lost is a love of which none wants to part
Well i'll tell you about those three words and define what they say
The word happy is for me while she's here but for my mom it's only mothers day
I watched my mom see her mom take her last breath a few weeks before mothers day.I knew it wasn't going to be happy for her so I wrote her this poem and song.Thanks for reading and enjoy her while she is here.Jim Pemberton
