Hi Suzanne - Dolly's new book is Dream More (and I can't wait to read it - its out in the UK at the end of November)
According to Wikipedia Jeanie was just a stand in for Norma Jean and Norma was with Porter until 1967 when Dolly took over. I guess we will get different info from different sites - it was a long time ago. Not sure what I was doing that many years ago never mind these lovely ladies. One thing is certain Porter sure did employ a lot of prety and talented women to sing with him over the years. I believe Tammy also sang with him for a while.

Yes it was 'The Potato'that ruined all of Dolly's diets.
You question is a tough one. I know she sang it for Porter but I don't think he joined in. She sang it to Bert but he didn't join in either. I think she recorded it with Kenny and Richard Dennison but I don't recall them being big hits. She did have a hit with Vince Gill but I'm not sure that it was a number 1 - so there may be another out there. I am going to go for a 'tentative' Vince Gill but I'm not confident enough to post another question without confirmation.
I wish she was coming but she
I wish she was coming but she hates to fly and Australia is 25 hour flight from Nashville. Vince gill is who I was thinking of so post your question
I know Dolly doesn't enjoy
I know Dolly doesn't enjoy flying - tell her you will fly to Nashville if she just gets her spare bed ready lol.
Okay next question. Not sure about how this will go down. You will have come across the answer if you have read her 'Smart Blonde' biography.
When Dolly left Porter she took someone with her that she refers to as 'Mr Everything'. He has managed everything for Dolly from Transport to collecting box office receipts. Dolly has always trusted him and he still remains a close friend today. The question is 'What is his name?'

You are correct Suzanne - it
You are correct Suzanne - it is Don Warden. Go ahead with the next question hon'.
What's the name of dolly's
What's the name of dolly's BFF ?
On a good day she might say
On a good day she might say Carl - but we all know that it's her life long friend Judy Ogle. I have always thought that 'Full Circle' was in her honour. Listen to the song again and remove any romantic thoughts and see if you agree. She has certainly been by her side almost all her life. No one could have had a truer friend.
Okay time to stop rambling and move on to the next question.
'Why does Dolly say that she doesn't ride the attractions at Dollywood'.
i'd guess at maybe her wig
i'd guess at maybe her wig might blow off but not 100% sure

in what movie did Dolly wear a red wig?
I'm just putting this question out there does anyone know why the soundtrack to some of Dolly's older movies are over the $100 price range
It's 'The Blue Valley
It's 'The Blue Valley Songbird'. I have waited for ages for it to be available on PAL format and I got my wish a few weeks ago - its a great film. A 'must' for any Dolly movie fan.
On the price issue. It's the same with some of the old albums/CD's. They aren't so available now so retailers cash in. Many of the CD's are cheaper to by new than to buy used. Guess it's a supply and demand thing. I will pay double the usual amount but refuse to go any further - even for Dolly.
Next question - In the mid 90's Dolly expressed an interest in buying out a well known American supermarket chain - what is the name of the chain?
The supermarket chain was the
The supermarket chain was the Piggly Wiggly.
Try this one - What is the name of the song that Dolly wrote sang at Tammy Wynette's Memorial Srvice?
I believe the song to be
I believe the song to be Shine On I just love it when Dolly sings a cappella she should release a whole album of a cappella hits.
Its getting hard to think of questions but I was at work today flicking through Dolly's new book dream more and reading quotes to people most of whom had no idea who Dolly was but decided she was a comedian not a singer so with that in mind here is the question.
What reason does Dolly give for not wanting to run for public office?
Hah - I've heard her say this
Hah - I've heard her say this during a few interviews or Q&A's and always had to smile. She says there have been enough boobs in the White House without her adding to the list.
You are right it is getting harder without going to obscure comments that few may have heard. Gonna try though. so next question - in an interview with Melvyn Bragg, in 1999, they where discussing how hard it was for older perfrmers to record and sell their music. What did Dolly say she was prepared to do in order to make and sell records -clue - the answer is NOT rude lol.
Ok - she said the she would
Ok - she said the she would make the records herself and sell them from the trunk of her car if she had to. Can't see her having to do that can you guys?
Trying to think of a more well known factfor y'all - getting harder with every question though.
Next question - Which of Dolly's siblings was in a road accident and suffered a broken neck - made a good recovery though.
It was Denver - 3rd child -
It was Denver - 3rd child - 2nd Son. Avie Lee had a premonition and woke up Lee and told him to get his clothes on as Denver had crashed the car on Cove Bridge. Denver was trapped inside with a broken neck - he would not have survived had they not gone to help him (spooky or what)
Ok try this one. Which sibling dropped baby Dolly on her head - remember there will only be 3 to chose from as Dolly is the 4th child.
I will take a guess and say
I will take a guess and say willadene i will post a new question you can correct me if i'm wrong
What naive christmas decorations did dolly put up when she first moved to nashiville that caused a string of unwanted guests and her uncle to get real mad at her?
Yeah it was Willadeene. She
Yeah it was Willadeene. She was trying to throw Dolly up in the air like her parents did, but Willadeene was only little herself and dropped Dolly on her head. Dolly rolled down the hill to the washhouse where their Mother was working. Dolly jokes that Willadeene gave her a head start in life and that she has been on a roll ever since lol.
Okay your qestion. I think that you may be referring to the time she decorated her trailer and replaced all the light bulbs with red bulbs. This attracted a lot of unwanted guests who misinterpreted the red light message. (Only Dolly could do that eh)
I will post a question to keep this moving but let us know if you had another occasion in mind - 'cos we wouod love to read it.
Before Dolly joined Porter she worked as a song writter for other stars. She wtote one of the biggests Country hits that Sketter Davis had. Can anyone recall the title of it? I guess I am showing my age with this one but it was one of my favourite songs of my outh and one of the first ones I actually bought. (Anyway I feel proud t have lived through souch a long and wonderful musical age - pop, country and rock)
